Radiology Residency Program - Call Responsibilities

St. Vincent's Medical Center has built a spacious new call suite for all residents. This facility has two reserved rooms for radiology residents with large bathroom and shower facilities. Lockers are provided along with computers to review patient images and records while in the call suite.

Residents have in-house attending backup until 11:00 PM nightly and then attending backup from home. The percentage of solo calls by the residents is approximately equal throughout all years. The call schedule is reviewed yearly by the program director and then discussed with all residents to insure fairness.

The residents are given the following day off, however are required to remain in the hospital on the following day until the 8:00 AM lecture is completed and evening cases are reviewed, thus allowing for feedback on all cases.
